Lazaroo – Thursday, April 8, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with heightened spiritual awareness:
“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.”
(John 1:10)
You made us, Jesus.
Not only that, through You God made everything else –
the vast universe I barely glimpse at night
the sun that warms my back
the very air I breathe.
How bizarre
that when You visited Your handiwork in Person
we didn’t recognize the Artist who fashioned all we see, hear, taste, smell, feel…and are.
If I had been living 2,000 years ago would I have been among those early adopters who
hung on Your every Word?
believed in You no matter what?
followed You everywhere You went?
fiercely defended You against all attackers?
Or would I have dismissed You as a curious oddity, along with the majority?
Far more crucially
am I able to recognize You at work in my life today?
