Lazaroo – Wednesday, March 10, 2010
No comments, Mar 10, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with pedal-to-the-metal commitment:
“Your country is desolate, your cities burned with fire; your fields are being stripped by foreigners right before you, laid waste as when overthrown by strangers.”
(Isaiah 1:7)
O Jesus.
Don’t let me read this and think it’s about somebody else somewhere else.
No country is so strong, so rich, so wise, so influential
that this can’t happen within its borders
if Your people turn against You.
Are our churches packed with people who are coming to faith in You
experiencing a deep, daily, moment-by-moment relationship with You
that empowers us to live out the faith we profess?
Are we breaking out of our church buildings to proclaim Your Word
in the streets of our cities
the states of our nation
the countries of our world?
Or are our churches becoming self-congratulatory social clubs
that will bring down Your wrath on this land
in utter desolation?
