Lazaroo – Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble awareness:
“…make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge…”
(2 Peter 1:5)
That’s fascinating, Jesus.
Goodness comes before knowledge.
It’s more important to be good than to be smart.
That makes sense.
Without goodness, our knowledge only makes us more effective
liars
thieves
cheaters
criminals
Wow.
That simple principle would turn the priority of this world upside down. The culture I live in
thinks it’s okay for politicians to lie
if they can lower my taxes
doesn’t mind if an athlete cheats on his wife
if he can still win
praises a company that takes unfair advantage of its workers
so long as it can turn a profit.
Your principle of goodness before knowledge is being violated almost everywhere I look!
But before I point out any more sins of others
is there anywhere in my life
that I’m caught in this same, deceptive trap?
