Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
(1 Peter 1:3)

That’s an amazing gift, Jesus:

new birth
into a living hope.

It sure beats slogging along day after day

unchanged
getting older

with nothing at the end of this road I’m on
but death.

You beat death.

You attacked the thing we fear most

wrestled it to the ground
pinned it for the full count

left it lying there helpless
for the weak, powerless
lifeless thing it truly is.

Today, You rule and reign from Your throne in heaven

King of kings
LORD of lords
Ruler over all Your hands have made
and Your hands have made everything.

That’s what gets me out of bed every day:

Living Hope.
