Lazaroo – Sunday, January 3, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sold-out surrender:
“Your whole head is injured, your whole heart afflicted. From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness—only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with oil.”
(Isaiah 1:5-6)
I know what that’s like, Jesus.
I hate it.
It’s what happens when my “whole head is injured” with twisted thinking.
How in the world could I fall into such a state, LORD?
How can I be so blind
while being absolutely convinced that I’m so right?
It’s because of my heart, isn’t it?
When my “whole heart” is “afflicted” with sin
my head doesn’t have much of a chance.
But how does my heart sink into such a rotten state?
It starts with Satan’s temptation, doesn’t it?
Right where I’m weakest.
O God.
Lead me not into temptation
but deliver me from the evil one.
