Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in stunned awareness:

“Then there came a voice from above…”
(Ezekiel 1:25)

I wonder, Jesus…

what would I do if You spoke like that to me?

Out loud.
Straight from heaven.
Unmistakably You.

Part of me scoffs at the very idea – as if You don’t do that anymore.

But of course You do.

You’re God – not some wishy-washy human.
You’re the same yesterday, today and forever.

So why haven’t You spoken to me like that?

You’d get a lot more out of me!

I’d quit my sinning.
Stop fooling around.

Focus all my energy
on what You want me to do.

The moment I heard Your voice speaking to me from heaven I’d hop to it!

Wouldn’t I?

Or am I claiming the reason I’m not already doing those things

is Your fault?

You could speak to me like that five minutes from now.

If it would do any good…

You would.
