Lazaroo – Friday, December 24, 2010

Dec 24, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, shaking your head in awe:

“When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.”
(Mark 1:19-20)

This was quite a day, Jesus.

First You called Simon and Andrew…
then James and John.

Not long after, you called eight more to be Your 12 disciples.

All of them were from Galilee – a tiny area in Northern Israel that accounts for less than four ten-thousandths of the earth’s land surface.

Half of your key leaders were brothers:

Peter and Andrew
James and John
James and Matthew.

Some of them were Your relatives.
All of them were men.

Today, You’d be accused of nepotism, sexism and racism.

But with this unlikely dozen…

You shook the world.
