Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with growing adoration:

“The word of the LORD came to me: ‘Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: “I remember the devotion of your youth…”’”

Young love is amazing, Jesus.

No holds barred.
Fiercely loyal.
Outrageously passionate.

But mature love is supposed to deepen, isn’t it?

It’s not supposed to fade
become diluted
weaken
grow cold.

So if You had to send the prophet Jeremiah to Your people to tell them:

The love they used to have for You
was far greater than the love they had for You now

that had to hurt You.

Deeply.

To know You is to love You.

To know You better…
is to love You more.

I remember when I first put my trust in You.

Those were awesome days!

But my best days with You should be right now.

Are they?
