Lazaroo – Friday, January 1, 2010
Jan 01, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with steely-eyed determination:
“Do not stare at me because I am dark, because I am darkened by the sun. My mother’s sons were angry with me and made me take care of the vineyards; my own vineyard I have neglected.”
(Song of Songs 1:6)
I’ve neglected my own vineyard, too, Jesus.
Some of it was the fault of others.
That’s between You and them.
But the rest of it is my fault.
That’s between You and me.
It’s hard for me to admit that, LORD.
I’m tempted to try to hide behind some excuse.
But like Adam and Eve
I stand before You naked
with nowhere to hide.
Please.
Make this year different!
I dare not allow what You’ve entrusted to me to slip through my fingers because of
what others have done to me
or failed to do for me.
You.
In me.
That’s enough.
