Lazaroo – Friday, January 22, 2010

Jan 22, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with faith-filled wonder:

“Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops.”
(Haggai 1:10)

Are You serious, Jesus?

Of course You are.

It’s just that…

a lot of people I know would scoff at the idea
that You would actually punish our sins
by negatively affecting the weather
and causing crops to fail.

To them, it sounds like some ancient superstition that doesn’t belong in this “enlightened” age.

But the more I think of it…

anyone who believes that the God who created the heavens and earth

isn’t powerful enough to hold back some dew…

anyone who believes that the Father who loved us enough to send His one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins

wouldn’t use crop failure to get our attention
and turn us around before it’s too late…

is, in fact the one who is

I SECOND THAT! Thanks for your faithfulness to Lazaroo, Steve.

I could not help but think this morning that anything we experience in this world other than death, sickness, sorrow and suffering is a direct result of God holding back the tide of this dying world in our lives. It is only by his grace that we, believers or not, have any measure of happiness and blessing in this life!

That, of course, led me to a wonderful time of prayerful thanksgiving for all of the many and abundant blessings in my life.

Thanks for your faithfulness to Lazaroo, Steve!
