Lazaroo – Friday, January 8, 2010
Jan 08, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep reverence:
“They have told the church about your love.”
(3 John 1:6)
Is my love that remarkable, Jesus?
Actually, I don’t have to ask You that.
I already know the answer.
No.
My love isn’t good enough for the people in my church to brag about.
Not even close.
The brutal truth about my love is that it is
deeply flawed
on-again/off-again
selfish, self-serving, self-centered
But thank God!
I’m not imprisoned in the tiny, cold cell of my love –
I’ve got Yours!
Your love is
deep, warm and boundless
always there – when times are easy and when they’re hard
self-sacrificing, honored to serve, others-focused
Now, when I catch myself recoiling from the messy demands of needy people
all I have to remember is to step out of the dark confines of my own shriveled soul
and into the radiant fullness of Your life-changing, life-giving love.
