Lazaroo – Friday, July 15, 2011

Jul 15, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in honest, humble submission:

“…as the LORD our God commanded us, we set out from Horeb and went toward the hill country of the Amorites through all that vast and dreadful desert…”
(Deuteronomy 1:19)

Please help me with this, Jesus.

I tend to think that if You “command” me –
if I’m truly following You and not my own

preferences –

that my life will be at least…

I’m not really prepared for you to send me through

“a vast and dreadful desert.”

A short side trip through an ordinary desert?

Okay. I can see that.

But a “vast and dreadful” desert?

A hot, brutal experience
that goes on and on and on –
seemingly forever?

Well…I say that…but it’s not my call, is it?

It’s Yours.

If, for the sake of Your kingdom that’s where I need to go

then the vast and dreadful desert it is.

Exodus 33:14; Matthew 10:24-25; Matthew 10:35-36; Matthew 11:28-29; Matthew 16:24; John 13:12-14; Acts 14:22; Acts 20:22-24; 2 Corinthians 4:7-11

What is Lazaroo?

brothers, thank you .. very important scriptures. Hebrews 3:7-11 you led me to Hebrew in study tonight. Also worship is so important to keep us where we need to be Psalms 95:1-11 repeats the warning but proceeds the warning with the importance of kneeling before the Lord in reverent praise and supplication .

  2. Scott B Says:

This passage from Hebrews grabs me and fills my ears and heart with divine warnings when I read this ….

So, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you hear his voice,
    do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion,
during the time of testing in the desert,
where your fathers tested and tried me
and for forty years saw what I did.
That is why I was angry with that generation,
and I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,
and they have not known my ways.’
So I declared on oath in my anger,
‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”

See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

“wandering around” … they did and your right our fears can keep us there also .. instead of the victories that God wants from us.

  4. Ken Says:

It may not be what we would choose, but how else could we possibly grow in our knowledge of and dependence on God? And how much time do we waste wandering around in “that vast and dreadful desert” as the Israelis did because of our own ignorant fears?

  5. RM Says:

wow .. I am tired just reading that Pastor Steve .. but from most of our life experiences .. we know He can if need be carry us through it.
