Lazaroo – Friday, June 21, 2013
Jun 21, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Ask God to increase your awareness, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“I hope to visit you…”
(2 John 1:12)
I don’t visit as much as people used to, Jesus.
2,000 years ago they did have visitation substitutes –
they could write one another
send a runner to carry a verbal message
convey their messages through friends.
In China, Greece and Rome they employed smoke signals.
American Indians were famous for them!
But none of those methods compares to the visitation substitutes available to me today.
I can pick up my phone, push one button…
and the person I want to reach answers within seconds.
If they’re not available, I can leave a voicemail.
They’ll hear it later…at their convenience.
If each of us possesses the right smartphone
we can FaceTime each other –
watch each other’s expressions while we talk.
There’s email…texting…instant messaging…Facebooking…Skype…videoconferencing…skywriting…
but please!
Don’t ever let me lose
the irreplaceable intimacy
of a visit.
