Lazaroo – Friday, March 5, 2010
Mar 05, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with no-holds-barred surrender:
“That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.”
(James 1:7-8)
This warning terrifies me, Jesus.
Where in my life am I double-minded?
Where is my belief mixed with doubt?
Where am I attempting to walk two paths –
one headed upward, toward freedom and light
the other winding down, into utter darkness?
Am I a chameleon –
behaving one way around Christians
and another around those whose love is for this world?
Where am I attempting to straddle the fence
with one foot planted in the sweet-smelling grass of Your green pasture
and the other sunk deep in the dark, stinking mud of sin?
Show me!
then fill me with a holy rush of fear and righteous indignation
strong enough to extract my muddy foot from Satan’s trap
before it’s too late.
