Lazaroo – Friday, May 20, 2011
May 20, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in sober contemplation:
“Then Abner said to Joab, ‘Let’s have some of the young men get up and fight hand to hand in front of us.’ ‘All right, let them do it,’ Joab said. So they stood up and were counted off—twelve men for Benjamin and Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, and twelve for David. Then each man grabbed his opponent by the head and thrust his dagger into his opponent’s side, and they fell down together.”
(2 Samuel 2:14-16)
Well, that was a total waste, Jesus!
“Your 12 against my twelve?”
And 24 young men lie dead.
What a repugnant display of disrespect
for Your gift of life.
How did those generals sleep nights after allowing that travesty?
But of course…
that was merely the loss of physical life.
All around me are people who will suffer eternally
because I refuse to tell them about You.
How do I sleep nights?
