Lazaroo – Friday, October 8, 2010
Oct 08, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in the power of the Holy Spirit:
“This terrified them and they asked, ‘What have you done?’ (They knew he was running away from the LORD, because he had already told them so.)”
(Jonah 1:10)
It’s so easy to see Jonah’s foolishness, Jesus.
Running from You?
Yeah, right.
As if.
Where did he think he was going to go
that You wouldn’t be there waiting for him when he arrived?
You’re omnipresent.
You’re everywhere at once.
There’s nowhere You’re not.
So when his shipmates heard what he was trying to do
it terrified them – and for good reason.
Oh, yeah.
It’s easy to see Jonah’s foolishness.
It’s much tougher
to see mine.
I don’t have to board a ship headed in the opposite direction to run from You.
Every time I deliberately disobey one of Your commands
I’m running away.
Only I can’t.
Wherever I run
there You are.
Help me stay
and obey.
