Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with growing awareness:

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another.”
(1 John 1:7)

So simple, Jesus.

If I want to get along with Your followers

I have to get along with You.

If they’re close to You and I’m not

we won’t see eye-to-eye.

If I’m close to You and they’re not

we won’t be on the same page.

If neither of us is close to You

we’re Your followers in name only.

In that case

even if we agree with one another
it will be joyless agreement

because we won’t be in agreement with You –
the Wellspring of our joy.

That’s the way it works in every area of my life, isn’t it, Father?

First get it right with You
then everything else falls into place.

But if I put everything else first

it all falls apart.
