Lazaroo – Monday, August 1, 2011
Aug 01, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with freshly opened eyes:
“For the appeal we make does not spring from error…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:3)
That’s exactly what a lot of appeals do spring from, Jesus –
“error.”
People manipulating other people for money
or for “good causes” that aren’t good
for political leverage
to power up on some other group
to gain influence
for entertainment
to get revenge
or even out of sheer ignorance.
I’m so weary of being appealed to, LORD!
Why won’t people just leave me alone?!
If they’ve got a burr under their saddle for something they think needs to be done, okay.
I’ve got no problem with that.
But leave me out of it!
Except, of course…
when the appeal comes from You.
That’s why I can’t blow off all these appeals, isn’t it?
If even one of them comes from You
I don’t dare miss it
and I dare not
fail to respond.
