Lazaroo – Monday, December 13, 2010
Dec 13, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with an open heart and a humble mind:
“The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, ‘What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?’”
(Jonah 1:11)
What a scary question, Jesus!
Jonah was running from You
so You sent a fierce storm against the ship that was carrying him in the wrong direction.
Everyone onboard that ship
was paying for Jonah’s sin.
To make the storm stop pounding them
they had to throw Jonah overboard.
Is it ever good not to be Jonah!
Wow.
I didn’t like how that came out.
It sounded way too much like the self-righteous man
who thanked You that he wasn’t as bad as that sinner over there.
O God.
Am I a Jonah?
Is there anything I’m doing
failing to do
which is making others suffer?
If so…
please help me correct it
before they have to throw me overboard.
