Lazaroo – Monday, July 25, 2011
Jul 25, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with soul-piercing reflection:
“The battle that day was very fierce, and Abner and the men of Israel were defeated by David’s men.”
(2 Samuel 2:17)
I guess there have to be winners and losers, Jesus –
at least on this earth.
I trust You in that
even though I’m weary of it.
The pressure to win is so great!
So is the penalty for losing.
What if I don’t want to play that game today?
Can I sit this one out?
What if I don’t want to play that game anymore?
Can I quit altogether?
And if I do…
does that mean I’m exempt from the consequences?
Or would my withdrawal just classify me as another kind of loser –
a quitter?
Could I live with that?
As far as the opinions of others are concerned
I think I could.
But any battle in which You’ve entered me
I’ve got to win.
