Lazaroo – Monday, July 8, 2013
Jul 08, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in awed humility:
“Then I looked up – and there before me were four horns!”
(Zechariah 1:18)
I’ve had that happen to me, too, Jesus –
looking up to You
praying for Your deliverance
hoping against hope that You’ll rescue me –
and instead being confronted by sharp horns
looking more like Satan
than the God I longed to see.
Gives a person whiplash.
In fact, that’s happened to me so many times that it’s starting to feel like the norm.
I figure out the way I want my life to go
ask You to make it happen
then get shocked
when You handle it in a totally different way.
It’s almost as if You think You know better about what I need in my life than I do.
Almost like You’re God
and I’m not.
What are You saying, here –
that before I make my plans
You want me to check with You
first?
