Lazaroo – Monday, June 20, 2011
Jun 20, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with single-minded faith:
“I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will have nothing to do with us. So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, gossiping maliciously about us.”
(3 John 1:9-10)
This is a tough one, Jesus –
gossip
slander
backbiting
directed at me.
You know better than anyone…
it’s not that I don’t deserve it.
I’ve got it coming.
I’m flawed
damaged goods
an easy target.
But life is hard enough
without someone slamming me behind my back
while I’m desperately trying to move forward
to get back on my feet
just hoping somehow
to put one shaky foot in front of the other
in the right direction.
So maybe You sometimes allow me to get a taste of how it feels
to be hacked up by critics
so I won’t do the same thing to others.
