What a responsibility, Jesus –

to keep Your lamp burning.

That responsibility is mine, isn’t it?

because this isn’t just about me.

It’s about those around me who don’t quite get it, yet.
It’s about those far away from me who haven’t yet heard.
It’s about those who will come after me who won’t hear

unless I do something now
for then.

I’ll admit it – I’m intimidated by this responsibility so great

and deeply, deeply
honored.
