Lazaroo – Monday, October 17, 2011
Oct 17, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in total dependence on God:
“Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God!”
(Psalms 3:7)
Sometimes it comes down to this, Jesus…
when I’ve done everything I can
when in spite of my very best efforts
it just isn’t enough.
I’m like the person thrown in jail who’s allowed to make just one call –
so here’s mine:
“Jesus! Help!”
knowing that if You don’t come through
I’m undone.
But there’s one more time when I make that call
only this time, it’s not a call
it’s a scream
because I haven’t done everything I can think of
I haven’t given You my best.
I’m trapped in the dark corner of a solitary confinement cell whose bars are
disobedience
rebellion
laziness
idolatry
addiction
stubbornness
weakness.
It is then that my guttural cry rises
knowing I have not one shred of anything to stand on
but Your mercy:
“Jesus! Help!”
