Lazaroo – Saturday, April 10, 2010

Apr 10, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in stunned wonder:

“After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.”
(Acts 1:9)

How did that feel to You, Jesus?

You had just completed 33 years among us

breathing our air
wearing our flesh
enduring our pain

speaking our language
sleeping under our stars
seeing through our eyes

Your work in that body
on this earth
was done.

As You rose higher and higher, nearing the cloud that would hide You from their sight

You looked down on that little ragtag group of people staring up at You

and saw…

Your new body

through whom, from then on, You would do everything –

Your Church.

Now, 2,000 years later

I’m one of that little ragtag group of people

through whom You have chosen

in Your baffling wisdom

to do everything.

Please don’t let me blow it.

Nor I Lord !! On that day when I shall see him face to face, I shall count that as the greatest day of my life. What great love he has for us, ” that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. Who in their right mind would sacrifice their life for me? A sinner whose “righteousness is as filthy rags”? If the things that I’ve gotten some what right in this life is as filthy in his sight, imagine what the wrong things in my life look like to the One who died for me! Try as I may I can not comprehend that kind of love. To love me at my absolute worst, when I can hardly stand to be around others at their absolute worst! And yet the Lord has chosen me to be amongst the “ragtag group”. Praise and Glory and Honor be to the Lamb of God who spilled his blood for me. Lord, don’t let me blow it either!
