Lazaroo – Saturday, December 12, 2009
Dec 12, 2009 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep humility:
“So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. This third captain went up and fell on his knees before Elijah. ‘Man of God,’ he begged, ‘please have respect for my life and the lives of these fifty men, your servants! See, fire has fallen from heaven and consumed the first two captains and all their men. But now have respect for my life!’”
(2 Kings 1:13-14)
I don’t blame him, LORD.
In a terrifying display of Your power, You had already destroyed 102 men.
This third captain knew he and his men were about to experience the same fate.
Quaking with fear, he
begged
pleaded
humbled himself
and You spared his life.
Please spare mine!
The last thing I want to do is disrespect You by treating Your commands
as though they are merely suggestions.
Please accept my immediate obedience
as I humble myself before You.
