Lazaroo – Saturday, December 15, 2012
Dec 15, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in full-blown repentance and humility:
“You should not look down on your brother…”
(Obadiah 1:12)
I absolutely agree with that statement, Jesus:
I should not look down on my brother.
But to my horror
again and again and again
I disobey that principle.
Why?!!!
Why do I persist in demeaning
one of the people You died for
as surely as You did for me?
What in the world makes me think I can get away with such detestable thoughts?
Of all people
who am I to judge?!!!
Am I not aware that the only reason I’m even drawing my next breath
is because of Your incomprehensible mercy
to the totally unworthy?
How dare I look down on anyone You’ve chosen?
Don’t I realize I’m sowing dangerous seed?
Don’t I realize I’m tempting those who have no clue how hard I’m trying
how great the obstacles I’m attempting to overcome
to look down on me?
