Lazaroo – Saturday, December 3, 2011
Dec 03, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in total trust:
“After the boy is weaned, I will take him and present him before the LORD…”
(1 Samuel 1:22)
I’m tempted to do the same thing Hannah did, Jesus –
everything in me prefers to procrastinate
when I’m faced with doing something I don’t want to do.
This childless mother promised:
If You would give her a child
she would give him back to You.
You answered her prayer!
She had to take her son to Your house…
but not just yet.
“After the boy is weaned…” she reasoned.
No doubt she was right.
It’s not like Eli the priest could’ve nursed him.
But the day came.
As hard as it was, she kept her word.
You accepted the gift of her son
and transformed him into the great prophet Samuel.
Please remind me of that…
next time I’m tempted to drag my feet
on fulfilling a promise to You.
