Lazaroo – Saturday, January 23, 2010
Jan 23, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble adoration:
“Where are your forefathers now? And the prophets, do they live forever? But did not my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your forefathers?”
(Zechariah 1:5-6)
You’re absolutely right, Jesus.
My great-great-great grandparents are no longer living on this earth.
I can’t talk to them
get to know them
ask their advice.
But every one of my ancestors who knew and obeyed Your Word
found it to be true.
Your incredible prophets and prophetesses of long ago –
Abraham, Moses, Miriam, Samuel, Deborah, Elijah, Huldah, Elisha, Anna, Isaiah –
no longer walk the length and breadth of Your land
no longer thunder with the authority of Your Word.
But the Word they thundered lives on!
None of Your predictions through them proved false
not a single word they uttered fell to the ground
and I know the living Word that sustained them
will sustain me.
