Lazaroo – Saturday, January 5, 2013
Jan 05, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, dumfounded…seeking:
“Yet you have disobeyed me. Why have you done this?”
(Judges 2:2)
Great question, Jesus:
Why would I disobey You?
Okay, okay – I’m a sinner.
I know this.
But surely I’m not stupid!
Okay, okay – I am stupid
sometimes
just a little.
All right – sometimes I’m stupid…
a lot.
But this stupid?
to knowingly disobey You?
C’mon.
I’m not that stupid.
When I look You right in the eye and sin
I’m not flunking an intelligence test.
I know Your plan is always superior to mine.
I know You love me and will bless me
if only I obey You with my whole heart.
Something else is going on, here.
It’s Satan, isn’t it?
Well, probably some third-rate demon he’s sicced on me.
I’m not really worth the big guy’s time.
But Y’know…
if I sent this little back-up twerp packing more often…
one day I might be.
