Lazaroo – Saturday, July 30, 2011
Jul 30, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed determination:
“…live a life worthy of the Lord…”
(Colossians 1:10)
Now, how could someone like me ever begin to do that, Jesus?
You know me.
You know the sins of my past.
You see the temptations I still battle.
You’re intimately aware of my shortcomings.
You’re worthy of far better than the likes of me.
But I can’t ignore this Scripture, can I?
If this is what You expect of me
this is what I’ve got to dedicate myself to deliver.
So in my case, what does that look like?
It can’t mean You demand perfection.
I don’t do perfection.
It can’t mean You require sinlessness.
I’ve tried.
I’m trying.
Oh, how hard I’m trying!
and falling short.
I can’t do this in my own strength.
If I’m going to live a life worthy of You, my only hope
is to live it in Yours.
