Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in quiet trust:

“Amazed and perplexed…”

Ha! I spend a good bit of my time in this state, Jesus:

amazed and perplexed.

On the one hand, I’m amazed by the wonderful things I see You doing around the world

and for me.

On the other hand, I’m perplexed by all the things that remain broken

in spite of Your obvious love and great power.

With a word, one gesture of Your hand, a mere thought, You could fix it all.

But You don’t.
Not yet.

That’s heaven.
This is earth.

Down here we’re still in school

with much to learn.
