Lazaroo – Saturday, June 29, 2013
Jun 29, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with faith-inspired perseverance:
“…the streams of water have dried up and fire has devoured the open pastures.”
(Joel 1:20)
I know about seasons like that, Jesus…
when everything I touch
breaks
fails
rots
when I can’t buy a basket
when I can’t win for losing
when I shoot for the moon
and hit my foot
when every good deed
blows up in my face
when every bite I take
turns to ashes in my mouth
when no matter how hard I try…
it’s never enough.
Why don’t You spare me from all that?
Why don’t You just grant me victory after victory?
I know You could
if You would.
It’s because there are some things victory can’t teach, isn’t it?
some lessons only heartache can convey.
Why do You take me through such tough times?
Oh.
That’s Your genius:
You take me…
through.
