Lazaroo – Saturday, May 5, 2012

May 05, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Hold nothing back, as you pray this Lazaroo out loud:

“I am not ashamed…”
(2 Timothy 1:12)

I’m not ashamed, Jesus!

Well…let me clarify that.

I am ashamed of my sins
But I’m not ashamed of You.

Sometimes, when I’m with people who don’t know You

I’m a little intimidated to speak up about my faith.

I’m aware that it’s probably the last thing they want to hear

even though it’s the thing they most need to hear.

I’ve seen bold Christians force it
try to cram the gospel down their throats.

Maybe they’re braver than I am
but that’s just not my style.

Instead, Holy Spirit…

I’m waiting on an inner prompt from You.
Only You know when the moment is right
when they’re ready to listen –

and that’s when I’ll gladly tell them what You’ve done for me.

I am not ashamed of You, Jesus.
Because when You hung on that cross

You weren’t ashamed of me.

  1. Ken Says:

I am not ashamed of Jesus. I am ashamed of the foolishness that has been, and continues to be, done in the name of Jesus. And I am ashamed at how long it is taking me to wrap my mind around Paul’s instruction to season my speech with salt. But I am not ashamed of Jesus.
