I dread being in chains, Jesus –

loss of freedom
unable to act

someone else controlling

where I go
what I do
even what I say.

Not all chains are made of iron.

Sometimes they’re made of

laws
rules
finances
fears
jobs
promises
responsibilities
schooling
addictions
relationships.

You created me to live free, LORD!

Not in chains.

Show me where I’m captive to anything or anyone but You.

Then in Your love, mercy and great power

set me free.
