Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with unrestrained allegiance:

I don’t like to think of You this way, Jesus.

I prefer to think of You as my

Guide
Helper
Savior
Friend
Rescuer

But it terrifies me when You make threats –

even when they come thundering from the mouths of Your Old Testament prophets

even when they’re not aimed at me.

Because of my countless sins…

…I know they could be aimed at me.

In fact…I shudder to say it:

They are aimed at me.

Except for one thing.

The cross.

That cross on which You gave Your life 2,000 years ago so that

everyone who admits their guilt

who lets go of trust
in their own good works

and believes You rose from the dead

will never
have to experience Your wrath.

O God.

With all my heart, soul, mind and strength

I believe!
