Lazaroo – Sunday, April 10, 2011
Apr 10, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo with a depth of gratitude that wells up from the very marrow of your bones:
“‘Come now, let us reason together,’ says the LORD. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.’”
(Isaiah 1:18)
Oh, Jesus.
I needed this today.
It’s so easy to become overwhelmed by the magnitude and number of my sins.
No, thankfully…
I don’t think about them all the time.
If I did, I wouldn’t be able to breathe
I couldn’t survive.
But sometimes when I start to lash out in judgment against somebody else
the memory of my own sins suddenly comes rushing over me
with the devastating impact of a tsunami
and I’m swept away head over heels
tossed like a rag doll in a raging current of guilt
until You pull me out of the torrent
by the power of Your blood on the cross and say:
My
sins
are
gone.
