Lazaroo – Sunday, August 21, 2011
Aug 21, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Bask in God’s radiant light, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another…”
(1 John 1:7)
I can understand wanting to sleep in darkness, Jesus…
but why would I ever deliberately choose
to walk in darkness?
It’s dangerous
disorienting
confusing.
I can’t make good time
always in danger of getting lost.
Darkness lets my enemies sneak up on me
without my being able to see them coming.
The only reason I might be tempted to walk in darkness…
is to hide what I’m doing
or who I’m doing it with.
But that just compounds the danger, doesn’t it?
The darkness not only hides what I’m doing
it hides what my “friends of the darkness” are hiding
from me.
That’s craziness.
I don’t want to walk there.
Be my light, Jesus!
and give me friends…
who have nothing to hide.
