Lazaroo – Sunday, August 4, 2013
Aug 04, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with mature faithfulness:
“As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:6)
Paul had the right to expect a salary from these people, Jesus.
Because of him, they put their trust in You
escaped eternity in hell
received Your incomparable gift of eternal life.
How could they not take care of his physical needs?
But Paul sensed they couldn’t handle paying him.
Although he allowed other churches in other cities to support him financially
he could tell it would be a stumbling block to these.
So he paid his own way
offered his services to them for free.
As Your true servant, it wasn’t about the money;
it was about their souls.
I’m glad Paul was willing to do that for them, LORD.
But unlike the Thessalonians,
may I be as openhanded to those who feed me spiritually
as You have been to me.
