Lazaroo – Sunday, December 18, 2011
Dec 18, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep appreciation:
“…of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher.”
(2 Timothy 1:11)
You haven’t given me Paul’s appointments, Jesus –
but two out of three’s not bad.
I’m no apostle.
But I am a herald –
a person who makes big announcements
somebody who spreads important news.
Announcements don’t get any bigger than this:
that Your Father sent You, His only Son to this earth
to rescue us from the mess we’ve made of our lives.
Breaking news doesn’t get any more important than this:
that right now – this very moment –
I can have a brand new life by giving myself to You.
I’m also a teacher –
somebody with the responsibility to pass along
a few of the tips I’ve picked up over the years.
If I can share with somebody
a lesson or two I’ve learned the hard way
that’s what I want to do.
