Lazaroo – Sunday, February 17, 2013
Feb 17, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning zeal:
“To you, O LORD, I call, for fire has devoured the open pastures and flames have burned up all the trees of the field.”
(Joel 1:19)
There’s something about a tree, Jesus.
When I see just one standing alone in a field
it draws my attention.
When the sun is high and hot
I can find relief under its shade.
If I’m being chased by a wild animal
I can climb its branches to safety
(so long as the animal can’t climb! ;-)).
If it’s a fruit tree
it can feed me when I’m hungry.
When I’m cold, its dead branches
can fuel the fire that keeps me warm.
But when the flames of my circumstances consume every tree in my life –
and there’s no more relief
nothing I can climb to safety
no food to ease my hunger
nothing to keep me warm
I call to You.
