Lazaroo – Sunday, January 20, 2013
Jan 20, 2013 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:3)
Easier said than done, Jesus.
I’m speaking from experience, here.
I’ve been deceived.
It hurts.
Being deceived is worse than having someone let me down.
That hurts, too, but it’s not intentional. People who let me down –
are just succumbing to their personal weaknesses
or perhaps unable to overcome difficult circumstances.
Deceit, though, is absolutely intentional –
somebody telling me it’s one way
when they know it’s another.
It’s a deliberate lie they tell to get something from me –
something they don’t believe they could get legitimately.
How do I keep that from happening?
Some people attempt to protect themselves by trusting no one.
But I don’t want to become a cynic!
I need Your help, Holy Spirit – desperately.
Please grant me Your priceless gift of discernment
so I will know who I can trust…
and who I can’t.
