Lazaroo – Sunday, March 27, 2011
Mar 27, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo, as You call aloud for wise restraint:
“I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do…”
(Nehemiah 2:12)
As hard as it is, Jesus…
sometimes I’d be wise to follow Nehemiah’s example
and keep to myself the assignment You’ve given me
at least for a while.
But that’s so hard!
It’s a stunning thing for someone like me
to be sent on a mission by You.
It makes me want to tell everyone I meet!
At first I think –
if I explain to them what You’ve put in my heart –
and point out that it’s Your idea, not mine –
they’ll get behind it and help me carry it out.
But that’s not always how it works, is it?
When I reveal Your mission too soon
it can scare them
even more than it does me.
Holy Spirit, I beg You:
Help me keep my mouth shut
till it’s time.
