Lazaroo – Sunday, March 4, 2012
Mar 04, 2012 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud all the way to the marrow of your bones:
“I wanted to see what was worthwhile for men to do under heaven during the few days of their lives.”
(Ecclesiastes 2:3)
So do I, Jesus –
because Solomon is right:
My life contains just a few days.
All the really old people tell me that.
They can’t believe how swiftly their years have passed!
I can hardly fathom how swiftly my years are passing.
Even people in apparently good health
suddenly drop dead.
Children die.
Since that’s the case, I’ve got to make these few years count.
I have no idea how many more of them You’ll give me.
What’s the best possible thing I can do, LORD?
Well…If I thought this world was it for me
I’d live for the pleasure of the moment.
But because I know life on earth is short
and eternity is unimaginably long
I’d be dumb as a rock to live like that.
