Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud all the way to the marrow of your bones:

“They came and began to work on the house of the LORD Almighty, their God…”
(Haggai 1:14)

What makes a person do that, Jesus?

What causes them to leave their own house
and show up for work at Yours?

It’s not like there’s nothing to do back home.

When people show up to work at Your place
they leave a ton of chores undone –

to-do lists unfinished
honey-do lists still not tackled

one more day.

That’s been known to create a tiny bit of friction back at the old homestead!

So why do we do it?

Why do so many of us decide to put You first?

I don’t know.

Maybe some do it out of fear

others from a sense of obligation

perhaps others do it because they feel pressured

or maybe just because their friends will be there.

But me?

I do it out of love.
