Lazaroo – Sunday, November 14, 2010
Nov 14, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:
“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.”
(1 Timothy 1:12)
I love serving You, Jesus.
It doesn’t matter what I do.
So long as I know it’s for You
that’s what makes it meaningful to me.
But I have to confess…
it’s almost impossible for me to identify with these words of Paul.
Oh, I can identify with him when it comes to thanking You for the strength You’ve given me –
there have been times when I wouldn’t have made it
if you hadn’t supplied me with unexpected strength
that came from somewhere beyond me.
But I know You didn’t appoint me to Your service
because You “considered me faithful.”
It was true of Paul.
Not of me.
That’s not how I started out.
But with Your help
that’s how I intend to finish.
