Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:

“I will not turn back my wrath…Because they have rejected the law of the LORD and have not kept his decrees…”
(Amos 2:4)

Most of the time those two go together, don’t they, Jesus?

People who reject Your law seldom obey it.

At least, not on purpose.

Of course, it’s impossible to function successfully on this earth without obeying most of Your laws!

The laws of –

Motion
Gravity
Mathematics
Physics
Radiation
Chemistry
Energy

come to mind.

But successful, non-believing secularists obey many of Your other laws too, don’t they?

Justice
Focus
Diligence
Kindness
Practice
Honesty
Fairness

to name just a few.

Regardless of their religious beliefs…

people who disobey those laws seldom get very far.

Of course, the opposite can happen, too –

It’s possible to wholeheartedly accept all Your laws
and still fall short of obeying them.

I ought to know.

Deliver me, LORD!
