Lazaroo – Sunday, October 16, 2011
Oct 16, 2011 I Lazaroo.
Pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo as you beg God to purify your heart:
“It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry…supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.”
(Philippians 1:15, 17)
It’s bad enough to be a troublemaker, Jesus.
But worst of all –
are those who lurk in shadows
secretly biding their time
too cowardly to stir up trouble
while their intended victim is strong
waiting until the person they despise
is hurt, sick, weak, under attack
vulnerable.
People like that don’t know You at all, do they?
You turn that spiteful behavior upside-down.
When I find my enemy hungry
You tell me to feed him.
When she’s in trouble
You tell me to pray for her.
If they lash out at me
You tell me to turn the other cheek.
Why?
Because every time I’ve sinned against You
breaking Your heart
that’s the way You’ve loved me.
