Heavenly Father, I agree – with every fiber of my being:

You
Are
Amazing!

But I am a sinner, condemned by Your Law –

not because it was too hard for me to obey
not because I didn’t understand it

but because –

when push came to shove and it was time to walk my talk
when obedience was about to cost more than I had anticipated

I flat-out didn’t want to obey it.

So what did You do in response to my lies, betrayal and rebellion?

You sent Your only Son to die on a cruel, Roman cross and pay for my sins

so You would not be forced to punish me as my sins deserve.

Oh, Jesus.
