Lazaroo – Sunday, September 19, 2010
Sep 19, 2010 I Lazaroo.
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud with eternal perspective:
“For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.”
(James 1:11)
I know You’re not picking on rich people, Jesus.
You love them.
You died for them.
You’re working through some of them to accomplish amazing things that will impact eternity.
It’s just that most of us love rich people
too much.
Well…
is it really love?
Or is it undue respect because of how much money they’ve made –
over-the-top awe for how much they’ve accomplished
tinged green with not a little envy?
Knowing that
You’re reminding me
and them
that whatever they have
whatever they’ve been able to accomplish
comes from Your hand
and can be withdrawn
in a heartbeat.
And that the exact same thing is true
of me.
